Making a Difference
Adult volunteers make Camp Erin possible. We were blessed with a wonderful team of volunteers last year to participate in our first Camp Erin weekend. Learn More about Camp Erin.
Camp Staff & Volunteers Include:
- Camp Director
- Camp Coordinator
- Clinical Director
- Executive Director of ChristianWorks for Children
- Member of the Texoma Youth Camp Board of Directors
- Two Head Counselors, a male and a female, both Licensed Professional Counselors
- Security Officer
- Pediatrician
- Registered Nurse
- Grief Activity Coordinators
- Cabin Big Buddies
- Game Coordinator
- Kitchen Staff
- Waterfront and Boating Staff
- Photographer and Videographer
Our Camp Erin volunteers have been trained in the following areas:
- Grief 101-The basics about grief and mourners
- The Companioning Philosophy of Helping Mourners
- Overview of Children & Teens Coping with Grief
- Review of Ages & Stages - A Child's Understanding of Death, Dying and Grief at Each Developmental Stage
- Effective Communication Skills
- The Moyer Foundation's Camp Erin Guidelines, including the Non-Disclosure, Confidentiality, and Sexual Abuse Policies.
- State-mandated Sexual Abuse Training. Each volunteer passed a test on the material presented in this training.
Additionally, they have all completed an application, provided references, and have had a criminal background check run.
